Senior Housing Solutions Open House Senior Housing Solutions is very excited to announce the opening of our new Socorro Senior Residence. This project is possible because of generous financial support from the City of Sunnyvale, the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County, the Opportunity Fund, Applied Materials, John A. and Susan Sobrato through an advised fund of Silicon Valley Community Foundation and generous in-kind donations from the Housing Industry Foundation and KB Home.

The only program of its kind in the Country, provides opportunities for independently functioning seniors living solely on their social security retirement income to afford and sustain permanent housing in a mutually cooperative setting that enhances seniors’ quality of life, economically and socially, in addition to strengthening their health and psychological support systems.

• The number of seniors has increased more than 33.6% since 1990 and will continue to grow significantly in the next several years.
• More than 180,000 Santa Clara County seniors, 55 and older, have an annual income below $22,000.
• Declining incomes with advancing age is evident in nearly 58% of seniors.
